Got a new computer!
So excited. Found an ad on Craigslist for this moderate gaming PC for $100, and a week later (yesterday) we drove up and got it from somebody in Austin. And I not only got the computer, but managed to get the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and a Razer mousepad as well.
The specs are pretty decent. It’s got an AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+, which has two cores and is clocked at 3 GHz (omg), 2 GB of RAM (which I will upgrade soon), and it came with an nVidia GeForce 7300GS, but I put my MSI Radeon 5450 in there instead. It also has a 250 GB hard drive, but I’m using it for storage since my 80 GB drive is faster.
It plays all my games pretty darn well, Minecraft is maxed out, Portal 2 runs smoothly almost maxed out, and I can finally play Team Fortress 2 again :D
The case is full of dust though, need to get that blown out properly soon. I cleaned out the important areas like the heatsink and fans though.
So happy. I like computers again.
Omg camera moment
As Tumblr is determined to host all images themselves and put a limit on GIF size, even if they’re from another site, when you post a new photo, I’m making this text post to show the power of my elite Tumblr hacking skillz.

IN YO FACE TUMBLR

Tumblr is the top trend on Twitter today.

PLEASE

Awesome, I can now customize the tweet when I make a new Tumblr post.

Tumblr has a swear word in their community guidelines. Wow. First service I’ve ever seen which didn’t stick with the calm non-vulgar norm.
Sorry for the spam…
…but without spam, life would be very boring - wouldn’t it?
Anyway, half an hour ago I decided to import my Tumblr blog into my WordPress blog. This would help with my plans to alternate between Tumblr and my WordPress blog for posts and stuff, but something went horribly wrong.
Turns out, I had completely forgotten about my dlvr.it setup which took the RSS feed of my WordPress blog and published the new items to Tumblr. And being a machine, and a web machine at that, it wasn’t smart enough to realize what it was posting was already on the Tumblr blog.
Not only that, but each new post to the Tumblr blog got sent to Twitter and Facebook, causing mayhem and chaos and mad chainsaw-wielding chipmunks to wage war against my awesomeness.
It was a bloody war, but it’s over now, and I’d like to apologize for the little spam epidemic that went on ;)
Here’s a little diagram: Import to LucasBlog > New content on LucasBlog is published on TumbLucas > New content on TumbLucas is published to Twitter and Facebook.
Anyway, it’s all cleaned up.

Tumblr is now showing quotes in the spotlight widget.
